Uzbekistan’s prospective tourism development plans presented in Malta

As part of the second day of the 72nd Meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for Europe, Chairman of the Tourism Committee Abdulaziz Akkulov participated in a high-level panel discussion at the conference titled: “Shaping the Tourism We Want: Policies for Balancing Growth, People, and the Planet.”

In his speech, the Chairman of the Tourism Committee presented information on the reforms being implemented in the tourism sector and related industries under the leadership of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and also outlined the sector’s future development plans.
Following the conference, a bilateral meeting was held with Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Ian Borg.
During the meeting, an agreement was reached on Malta’s comprehensive support for Uzbekistan’s initiatives within the framework of UN Tourism, as well as on establishing further cooperation in promising areas.
