As part of the annual meeting of the Asian Development Bank in Samarkand, a session of the CAREC Program was held, focusing on regional connectivity and the development of tourism as one of the key drivers of economic integration.

During the discussions, it was emphasized that countries in the region are transitioning from fragmented initiatives toward building a cohesive, unified tourism space across Central Asia. In this context, priority is being given to the development of cross-border routes, the seamless movement of tourists, and the alignment of infrastructure planning and standards.
Uzbekistan presented its approaches to developing the “Central Asian Tourism Ring,” which received support as a practical tool for strengthening regional cooperation within CAREC.
