During the visit, the guest became acquainted with the country’s tourism, cultural, and infrastructure assets, as well as the dynamic development of creative industries and the modern tourism ecosystem.
The program covered the country’s key tourist destinations—Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva.
In Tashkent, George Greig visited the Center of Islamic Civilization, the Rakhimov Ceramics Studio, the “Okhun Guzar” tourist street, and the “Namuna” art residence, and also took part in cultural events.
In Samarkand, the delegation explored major UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Registan Square, Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum, and the Imam al-Bukhari Complex, as well as the modern Silk Road Samarkand tourism cluster.
In Bukhara, the program included visits to the historic center, craft workshops, and art spaces reflecting the region’s rich cultural heritage.
In Khiva, the guest visited the open-air museum of Ichan Kala, where he explored the city’s key architectural landmarks.
Special attention was also given to gastronomic tourism, with the guest experiencing traditional Uzbek cuisine alongside modern culinary concepts.
It is expected that the outcomes of the visit and potential coverage in international media will further increase interest in Uzbekistan, strengthen its tourism brand, and expand the country’s global presence.
