A gastronomic festival titled “99 Dishes from Aral Fish” was held in Karakalpakstan

The event aims to widely promote the unique potential of gastronomic tourism in the Aral Sea region on the international stage, increase the number of cultural and entertainment events in Karakalpakstan, and further boost the number of local and foreign tourists visiting the region.
The festival has been held regularly since 2017. This year, about 50 skilled chefs participated, presenting the best and rare dishes made from fish typical of the Aral region.
Visitors had the opportunity not only to watch the preparation of 99 different fish dishes—fried and stewed fish, popular fish soups, and other national delicacies—but also to taste them. At the end of the festival, an awards ceremony for the winners was held.
The gastronomic festival “99 Dishes from Aral Fish” is important not only as a celebration of fine cuisine, but also as a vivid reflection of the reviving nature of the Aral Sea region, its rich cultural heritage, and its traditions of hospitality.
