Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan

During the meeting, the parties discussed promoting Uzbekistan’s tourism potential through festivals and MICE events, including the prospects of holding an international baklava festival in the country and establishing baklava production.

The guests noted that the national Turkish dessert—baklava—is widely recognized worldwide as a symbol of Türkiye, and international baklava festivals are regularly held in various countries.

Given that relations between Uzbekistan and Türkiye are based on shared language, religion, history, and cultural values—and have now reached the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership—the Turkish side proposed organizing an upcoming festival in the historic cities of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Tourism Committee.

The organization of such a festival once again confirms that Uzbekistan is a convenient platform for hosting international events with foreign partners, as well as the Tourism Committee’s readiness to expand international cooperation in this area.
