On March 30 at 18:00 (local time), the first flight of “China Eastern Airlines” from Shanghai, MU6037, landed at Tashkent International Airport. The aircraft, carrying 265 passengers, was traditionally welcomed with a water salute, and the crew was greeted with flowers and a festive atmosphere. A ceremonial check-in for the first passengers departing from Tashkent to Shanghai was also held at the capital’s airport.
The launch of this route directly connects China’s largest metropolis with the capital of Uzbekistan, offering passengers new opportunities for travel, tourism development, and business cooperation. Flights will operate four times a week — on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays — using comfortable Airbus A330 aircraft. The flight time will be approximately 8 hours.
China Eastern Airlines is one of China’s leading airlines, headquartered in Shanghai and founded in 1988. It should be noted that the Chinese carrier first entered the Uzbekistan market in July last year by launching the Xi’an – Tashkent – Xi’an route, which has become popular among passengers.
