Tourist trails are being created in eco-zones

A tourist trail is a pre-determined route within eco-zones designed for tourist movement, with a specific direction and compliance with environmental requirements. It is adapted for hiking as well as for travel by horseback, bicycle, skis, and other means (excluding cars and motorcycles). This approach helps limit uncontrolled tourist movement, reduce damage to flora and fauna, and preserve the natural environment.
Tourist trails in eco-zones are established by the Tourism Committee in coordination with relevant responsible organizations. The route, its length, and key points are developed by the managing authority of the eco-zone. Natural features of the area, its environmental condition, tourist safety, and the capacity of existing infrastructure are all taken into account. Trails are equipped with rest areas, information boards, direction signs, and safety markers. Once the trail is fully prepared for operation, it is entered into a special register maintained by the Tourism Committee, confirming its official status.
Maintenance and ongoing technical monitoring of the trails are the responsibility of the eco-zone’s managing authority. During operation, mandatory requirements are enforced: preventing environmental damage, disposing of waste only in designated areas, prohibiting deviation from the established route, and using the trails strictly for their intended purpose. If environmental or safety risks arise, the use of tourist trails may be temporarily suspended. All relevant information is published online in an open and accessible format, allowing tourists to plan their trips in advance. This system supports the sustainable development of ecotourism and the conservation of natural areas.
