Issues of tourism infrastructure modernization and strengthening cooperation discussed in Samarkand

As part of the program, an open dialogue was organized with the participation of around 170 entrepreneurs, tour operators, artisans, representatives of the hospitality and restaurant sector, transport organizations, and cultural institutions. The event was attended by members of the Republican Working Group, including representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Poverty Reduction and Employment, the Cultural Heritage Agency, the Agency for the Development of Forestry and Green Zones and Combating Desertification, the khokimiyat of Bukhara region, as well as other relevant ministries and agencies.
During the open dialogue, projects implemented in Samarkand region in 2025 and the results achieved were presented, and priority tasks for 2026 were outlined. These include modernization of tourism infrastructure, improvement of service quality, creation of new jobs, and ensuring employment for the local population. Special attention was given to strengthening cooperation with the private sector, attracting investment, and promoting regional brands.
On the first day, the open dialogue was held at the Mövenpick Hotel in Samarkand with the participation of accommodation facilities and catering enterprises. During the meeting, proposals and initiatives from industry representatives were thoroughly reviewed, and existing challenges and ways to address them were discussed.
Particular emphasis was placed on further improving service quality, introducing modern standards, and enhancing the level of hospitality provided to guests. As a result of the discussions, specific tasks were identified to support and practically implement the proposals put forward.
The meeting was aimed at strengthening mutual cooperation within the sector, supporting business entities, and increasing efficiency in tourism and service industries.
On the second day, the dialogue took place in the small hall of the Samarkand Youth Center with the participation of tour operators, guides, transport organizations, and artisans.
Key topics included service quality, creating favorable conditions for tourists, developing new tourism products, and expanding cooperation with the private sector.
During the two-day visit, tourism projects being implemented in several districts of the region were also reviewed, and priority areas for further development were identified.
Based on the assigned tasks, efforts to develop tourism infrastructure and implement new investment projects in the region will continue.
