The event was conducted with the support of the Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Malaysia. Representatives of Malaysian authorities responsible for Hajj and Umrah affairs, the Department of Religious Affairs, tourism companies, entrepreneurs, and members of the media attended the presentation.
During the event, the favorable conditions created for the development of ziyarah (pilgrimage) tourism in Uzbekistan were showcased, including ongoing improvement works at the Center of Islamic Civilization and Memorial complex of Imam Al-Bukhari.
It was noted that under the “Umrah Plus” project, trips by Malaysian pilgrims to Mecca and Medina will be combined with visits to Uzbekistan’s sacred and historic cities, such as Samarkand and Bukhara.
Entrepreneurs expressed their readiness to implement the project and signed the first agreements on joint cooperation.
The “Umrah Plus” project aims to strengthen friendship and cooperation between Uzbekistan and Malaysia.
