In addition, a sharp increase in the number of international visitors has been identified as one of the core priorities in the updated Uzbekistan–2030 strategy. At present, the number of foreign tourists exceeds 11 million, and by 2030 it is expected to reach 20 million, including through a higher share of high-spending visitors.
Another strategic objective is to raise annual exports of tourism services to more than USD 6 billion. Achieving this target will require expanding the range of tourism services, developing competitive tourism products, and actively promoting them in international markets.
Infrastructure development is one of the decisive factors for tourism growth. Improving transport connectivity between Uzbekistan’s tourist cities, increasing the number of domestic flights, and reducing travel time by at least threefold will create more convenient conditions for travelers. At the same time, doubling the number of four- and five-star hotels will significantly enhance the country’s capacity to provide high-quality services.
Moreover, plans envisage fully unlocking the country’s tourism potential through the diversification of tourism services and products. The goal is to build a globally recognizable tourism brand for Uzbekistan, introduce modern tools for promoting national tourism offerings, and position the country as a prestigious destination in the international tourism market.
