On December 14, 2025, the modern tourist complex Arda Khiva hosted the International festival “Khorezm Plov”, organized by the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Chefs Association. The event became an important occasion for promoting tourism and strengthening the region’s image. It demonstrated how national cuisine can serve as an effective tool for attracting tourists and popularizing the traditions of Khorezm.

The festival’s main highlight was the preparation of 9 tons of Khorezm-style plov in a single giant cauldron — a national record that drew a large number of visitors and spectators. The dish was made using 2.5 tons of beef, 3 tons of carrots, 2.5 tons of rice, and 750 liters of cottonseed oil. After cooking, everyone had the opportunity to taste the plov, creating an atmosphere of celebration, hospitality, and unity.
The festival became a vivid example of how gastronomic events can enhance the tourist appeal of a region.
