The fair served as an important platform for establishing new business connections between domestic and international companies and played a significant role in promoting Uzbekistan as an attractive tourist destination. Presentations of unique tourist routes and regional attractions generated strong interest, opening new prospects for expanding cooperation and attracting tourists. The large-scale event also drew the attention of more than 100 major media outlets, further contributing to the enhancement of Uzbekistan’s international image.
Held since 1995, the Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road” is the largest and most significant tourism event in the country and throughout the Central Asian region. Its main objective is to widely showcase Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, support the development of a favorable tourism infrastructure, and present new travel routes.
This year, the fair welcomed more than 15,000 visitors, including representatives from 72 foreign countries such as France, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and others.
Over the course of three days, more than one hundred domestic and international tourism industry participants took part in the event, represented across 44 stands. B2B meetings were organized, resulting in thousands of negotiations and the signing of numerous agreements.
It is worth noting that this year China presented its national stand at the fair for the first time.
Within the framework of the “Hosted Buyers” program, 10 foreign and more than 30 domestic tourism companies participated, concluding over 50 contracts.
In addition, the fair featured panel sessions, workshops, the International Aviation Forum “Uzairo,” the international gastronomic festival “Delicious Uzbekistan,” an exhibition of traditional crafts, the Tourism Education Forum, the “Global Tourism Media Campus” (including the international media tour “Tabarruk ziyorat” and B2B meetings), the EthnoGames Festival, the first “Central Asia – European Union” tourism forum, as well as a tourism forum held within Uzbekistan’s chairmanship of the OIC Conference of Tourism Ministers.
At the closing ceremony, it was announced that the 31st Tashkent International Tourism Fair will take place next year. All participants who presented stands received commemorative souvenirs.
