A new standard adopted in the tourism sector

By Order No. 127/XSt of the Uzbek Institute of Standards dated October 23, 2023, the international standard O‘zMSt ISO 21620:2025 (ISO 21620:2021, IDT) “Tourism and related services — Heritage hotels — Equipment and service requirements” was approved and registered. The present standard was developed by the Uzbek Institute of Standards in cooperation with STQ 9, the Technical Committee for Standardization in the Field of Tourism under the Tourism Committee.
This standard establishes requirements and recommendations for equipment and services provided in hotels located at sites of historical or cultural heritage. The main purpose of the standard is to preserve historical sites or buildings of cultural heritage and adapt them for effective use in the tourism sector.
The standard came into effect on November 23 of this year.
