They reviewed existing opportunities and ongoing initiatives, while setting key tasks to further develop football, improve infrastructure, identify talented players early, and guide them into professional sport.
The visit began at the Fergana Regional Football Academy, where 154 students in grades 6–11 are currently training in seven groups under the guidance of qualified coaches. The academy already has both artificial and natural turf fields, and plans have been made to expand training grounds, install new stands, and carry out landscaping. Instructions were given to strengthen the material and technical base and ensure all necessary conditions for young players.
The delegation then visited the regional football school, where more than 20 coaches train over 950 young footballers. The school’s artificial turf field has been renovated, and an additional training ground is planned, creating more favorable conditions and boosting training efficiency.
Ravshan Ermatov emphasized the importance of nurturing promising and talented footballers, increasing the number of experienced coaches, and directing more players into the national team.
The recently renovated base of “Neftchi” Football Club, equipped with modern infrastructure, was also inspected. The complex now boasts two new football pitches, giving players access to three world-standard stadiums. The upgraded facilities also include a modern cafeteria, gyms, a swimming pool, medical rooms, and other amenities. Dormitories, training fields, sports halls, and classrooms have been set up for the main team, as well as for the U-19, U-21, and women’s teams.
Ravshan Ermatov praised the facilities, noting that Fergana has great potential for football development. Following the visit, agreements were reached on joint projects between the Uzbekistan Football Association and the regional administration.
