The Governor of Fergana Region Meets with the Ambassador of Belarus

The Governor congratulated the Ambassador on the commencement of his diplomatic mission and emphasized that in recent years, the relationship between Uzbekistan and Belarus has reached a qualitatively new level, characterized by increasing trust and dynamic collaboration across multiple sectors. In 2024, the foreign trade turnover between the Fergana Region and the Republic of Belarus amounted to USD 25.5 million. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, this figure reached USD 5.4 million. Currently, there are four enterprises operating in the region with the participation of Belarusian capital, actively developing trade in food production, chemistry, metallurgy, and the textile industry. During the meeting, detailed information was provided on the investment potential of the region. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in education, culture, tourism, agriculture, mechanical engineering, light industry, and information technology, and on expanding trade, economic, and investment ties. Special attention was paid to implementing joint projects in the meat and dairy sectors, establishing food processing enterprises, introducing modern production technologies, and training qualified specialists. At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and agreed to jointly work on specific collaborative projects in the near future.
