As part of his working visit to Saudi Arabia, Khayrullo Bozorov, Governor of Fergana Region, met with Juma Saleh Al Araimi, Chief Operating Officer of Vision Invest, an investment holding company.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current status of the project to construct a modern 800-bed multidisciplinary hospital in Fergana Region under a public-private partnership (PPP) framework, preparations for construction, and the next steps in its implementation.
This project is of strategic importance to Fergana's healthcare sector. The new hospital will bring together the regional branches of five existing specialized medical centers into a single integrated complex, creating opportunities to provide high-tech medical services. The project's total investment value is estimated at approximately USD 300 million.
In the future, the facility is expected to become a major regional medical center providing advanced specialized healthcare services not only to residents of Fergana, Andijan, and Namangan regions but also to citizens of neighboring countries.
Another important component of the project is the planned establishment of Fergana Plus, a modern medical education cluster based at the hospital that will integrate medical education, scientific research, and clinical practice. This initiative will create new opportunities for training highly qualified healthcare professionals in Fergana, advancing medical research, and introducing innovative treatment methods into clinical practice.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia continues to develop steadily, while interregional investment ties are being strengthened through the implementation of concrete projects.
The Governor of Fergana Region highly appreciated Vision Invest's commitment to investing in Fergana and implementing a major project of great importance to public health. It was also noted that the launch of work on additional projects in cooperation with the company represents another significant step in strengthening the partnership.
Particular satisfaction was expressed over the planned groundbreaking ceremony for the 800-bed hospital in December of this year.
At the conclusion of the negotiations, the parties exchanged views on implementing the project in accordance with the established schedule, jointly addressing organizational and practical matters, and advancing investment projects.
