As noted during the event, cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and culture has been steadily developing thanks to the initiatives of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the support of the Government of Japan. JICA plays an important role in this process.
The newly opened center will provide residents of Kokand and the Fergana Valley with opportunities to attend Japanese language courses, participate in business training sessions, educational programs, and projects aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
More than 200 young people will be able to study at the center annually. In particular, new opportunities are being created for young people to gain proficiency in the Japanese language and subsequently pursue education and employment in Japan.
The center will also enable entrepreneurs to learn from Japan's advanced business practices, establish direct contacts with Japanese business circles, and develop mutually beneficial partnerships.
The Governor expressed his readiness to provide comprehensive support for the center's activities and facilitate close cooperation between its programs, educational institutions, and businesses in the region.
During the ceremony, Kenji Hirata, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Uzbekistan, and Katsura Miyazaki, Senior Executive Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), emphasized the importance of further expanding multifaceted cooperation between the two countries and implementing new initiatives in education and entrepreneurship.
