The international forum is attended by a delegation from Fergana Region headed by Regional Governor Khayrullo Bozorov, Chairman of Sughd Region Rajabboy Ahmadzoda, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic in Batken Region Mamirjan Rakhimov, as well as representatives of the United Nations, the European Union, the OSCE, the International Organization for Migration and other international organizations, along with experts and specialists.
The forum is dedicated to further strengthening the longstanding ties of friendship and good-neighbourliness between Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, ensuring peace and stability in the Fergana Valley, and expanding practical interregional cooperation.
Speaking at the opening of the forum, Governor of Fergana Region Khayrullo Bozorov noted that the Fergana Peace Forum is becoming an important platform for dialogue that serves to strengthen the longstanding friendship, good-neighbourly relations and shared interests of our peoples.
It was emphasized that the Fergana Valley is not merely a geographical area connecting three countries, but a common home for peoples who have lived side by side for centuries and share a common history, culture and values.
In recent years, a new atmosphere based on mutual trust and good-neighbourliness has taken shape in Central Asia. This is, above all, a practical result of the political will of President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, their open and pragmatic dialogue, and their efforts aimed at advancing regional cooperation.
As a result, borders have opened, trade and transport links have expanded, and cooperation in the water and energy, environmental, cultural and humanitarian spheres has reached a new level.
In particular, the Khujand Declaration on Eternal Friendship, signed by the leaders of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan in Khujand on 31 March 2025, played an important role in bringing the centuries-old friendship, good-neighbourly relations and mutual trust among our peoples to a new level.
Today, these political agreements are also being translated into practical cooperation between the regions.
Within the framework of the forum, the Governor of Fergana Region placed particular emphasis on turning peace and mutual trust into practical cooperation, expanding trade and economic ties among Fergana, Sughd and Batken regions, developing industrial cooperation, strengthening dialogue among young people, and implementing joint projects in education, culture and entrepreneurship.
Proposals were put forward to organize a “Fergana Valley Business Dialogue” for entrepreneurs from border regions and to hold an exhibition next February at the Fergana Expo Business Centre with the participation of entrepreneurs from Fergana, Sughd and Batken regions.
“We live in one valley and are each other’s closest neighbours. We share a common history, while our present-day interests and future development are closely interconnected. Therefore, the Fergana Valley should become a model region of peace, good-neighbourliness and shared development,” said Governor of Fergana Region Khayrullo Bozorov.
Within the framework of the forum, proposals and initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and stability, enhancing friendship and mutual trust among the peoples, and taking interregional cooperation to a new level are being discussed.
The forum also envisages discussions on concrete proposals aimed at exchanging experience, developing cooperation, strengthening mutual trust and ensuring the sustainable development of the Fergana Valley.
