The event was attended by Khayrullo Bozorov, Governor of Fergana Region, Ravshan Ermatov, First Vice President of the Uzbekistan Football Association, football specialists and coaches, sports veterans, and young people.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ravshan Ermatov, First Vice President of the Uzbekistan Football Association, noted that, thanks to the initiatives and attention of the President, the country’s sports infrastructure is undergoing major modernization, while modern conditions are being created to develop football and support young talent.

It was noted that the commissioning of two standard football pitches meeting international requirements at the Regional Football Academy marks another important step in the development of professional football in Fergana. Gratitude was expressed to the Governor of Fergana Region for his close cooperation and practical support in this regard.

Special recognition was also given to the rich history and traditions of the Fergana football school and its contribution to the development of football in Uzbekistan. It was emphasized that Neftchi Football Club’s return to its former prominence is an important development for football in Fergana.

Confidence was expressed that the modern facilities created at the academy will help nurture talented footballers who will go on to represent the Uzbekistan national team and uphold the country’s honor on the international stage.

Addressing the ceremony, Governor of Fergana Region Khayrullo Bozorov congratulated everyone on the opening of the modern football pitches.

— These are historic years for Uzbek football. The participation of our national team in the FIFA World Cup has opened a new chapter in the history of football in our country. The President is paying great attention to the development of football and the creation of modern conditions for young people. New football pitches are being built across the regions. I am confident that Uzbek footballers who will one day play in the world’s strongest leagues will emerge from pitches like these. Real football begins on fields like these. We will create all the necessary conditions to make this possible, — said the Governor.

It was noted that next year Kokand will mark the 115th anniversary of football in the city. It was also announced that proposals are being prepared to expand and further modernize the Istiqlol Stadium. It was emphasized that many initiatives will be implemented in pursuit of the ambitious goal of turning Fergana into a major football center.

During the event, senior citizens, sports veterans, and young people expressed their gratitude to the President for the high level of attention devoted to sports, particularly the development of football, and for the conditions being created in this sphere.

The symbolic ribbon was then cut, and the new modern football pitches were officially opened for young athletes.

Currently, 154 young footballers born between 2008 and 2014 train regularly at the Regional Football Academy. The academy’s current and former trainees continue to achieve strong results in various prestigious competitions.
