Fergana Region Delegation Familiarizes Itself with the Paju National Football Center

The center is one of the major sports infrastructure facilities in the Republic of Korea that has served the development of football and the professional training of national teams and promising players. For many years, it was one of the main training bases for the country’s national teams and is closely associated with the history of the 2002 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the Republic of Korea and Japan.
The center has the necessary infrastructure for regular football training and for improving players’ physical fitness and technical skills. The facilities established here have played an important role in the development of Korean football, ensuring high-level preparation of national teams and nurturing talented players.
Since May 2026, the complex has been under the management of Paju Frontier FC. Today, opportunities have been created for the facilities to serve not only the needs of professional football but also local residents and football enthusiasts.
The Governor of Fergana Region first familiarized himself with the conditions created for athletes at the Paju Frontier FC training base, as well as its football pitches and other infrastructure facilities.
Club General Manager Hwangbo Kwan provided information on the activities of Paju Frontier FC, the formation of the team, and its plans within the professional football system.
Paju Frontier FC is a professional football club representing Paju City in Gyeonggi Province. Since 2026, the club has competed in K League 2, the second tier of professional football in the Republic of Korea. It has thus become the first team from northern Gyeonggi Province to enter the K League system.
To support the club’s activities, Paju City has allocated USD 4.5 million.
The team plays its home matches at Paju Stadium. This multi-purpose sports complex serves as the main home venue of Paju Frontier FC during the 2026 K League 2 season.
During the visit, particular attention was paid to the Republic of Korea’s advanced experience in the effective management of football infrastructure, the organization and operation of professional football clubs, the identification and selection of young talent, and the preparation of promising players for professional football.
The sides also exchanged views on establishing cooperation with Fergana’s Neftchi Football Club, sharing experience, training young players using modern methodologies, and implementing joint initiatives aimed at enhancing their skills and professional development.
