New Areas of Cooperation with a Japanese Company Discussed

The meeting focused on expanding investment cooperation in Fergana Region and implementing new projects based on Japanese technologies.
It was noted that the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan has been steadily developing in recent years, with bilateral cooperation advancing to a new level.
The parties exchanged views on expanding interregional ties, increasing the number of projects involving Japanese investors, and supporting new investment initiatives. The important role of mutual delegation visits in advancing this process was also emphasized.
It was noted that Fergana Region places particular emphasis on adopting Japan’s advanced practices. In the field of education, Japanese teaching methods have been introduced on a pilot basis, while higher education institutions are also training specialists using modern approaches.
Mitsui & Co., Ltd is a major international trading and investment company headquartered in Tokyo, with operations in 62 countries. The company opened its office in Uzbekistan in 1993. It implements investment projects in energy, infrastructure, transport, agriculture and the food industry, chemicals, digital technologies, logistics, and other sectors.
During the talks, proposals were put forward to implement joint projects in the oil industry, water supply, fruit and vegetable processing, infrastructure, tourism, and education.
Taking into account the Japanese company’s areas of expertise, the parties agreed on measures to further intensify cooperation in the future.
The meeting was also attended by Tulkinjon Rakhimov, Chief Representative of Mitsui & Co., Ltd in Kazakhstan, and Mirzohid Ubaydullayev, First Deputy Governor of Fergana Region.
