Fergana regional administration

The meeting, held via videoconference, was chaired by Khayrullo Bozorov, Governor of the Fergana Region. It was attended by officials of the Agency for Control over Narcotic Drugs and Firearms under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of ministries and agencies included in the Republican Working Group, heads of relevant regional departments and organizations, as well as members of city and district commissions.

The meeting focused on achieving the priority objectives of the National Strategy to Combat Drug Addiction and Drug-Related Crime, increasing the effectiveness of efforts to combat drug addiction and organized drug-related crime, and ensuring effective protection of public health—particularly the health of young people—and the nation’s gene pool.

It was noted that crimes in this sphere are taking increasingly modern forms and becoming more dangerous, particularly through online drug trafficking. It was emphasized that positive results can be achieved only through joint and coordinated efforts to combat these threats.

It was emphasized that, within the framework of the Presidential Decree and the National Program for 2025–2026, large-scale preventive and practical measures are being implemented throughout the country, including in the Fergana Region.

Farhod Hasanov, Head of the Agency for Control over Narcotic Drugs and Firearms under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, provided a detailed report on the results of the study conducted by the Republican Working Group in the region.

The shortcomings and deficiencies identified during the study were critically and analytically reviewed. Necessary measures were determined to eliminate them and increase the responsibility of officials. It was announced that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken against those responsible for the identified shortcomings.

At the same time, a responsible employee of the Regional Department of Internal Affairs who had ensured exemplary organization of work in this area, as well as the deputy governors of Dangara and Uzbekistan districts, were awarded letters of appreciation.

At the conclusion of the meeting, responsible officials were given specific tasks and instructions aimed at eliminating the identified shortcomings, further increasing the effectiveness of the fight against drug addiction and drug-related crime, strengthening preventive efforts, and ensuring the implementation of the assigned tasks.
