Fergana District to Expand Dried Apricot Processing and Export Potential

An agro-complex specializing in dried apricot processing, “Fergana Agro Star,” is being constructed in Chimgan village. Fergana Regional Governor Khayrullo Bozorov visited the site and reviewed the progress of construction.
As part of the project, valued at 50 billion soums, annual processing of 10,000 tons of apricots will be launched, creating more than 200 new jobs.
The main objective of the project is to create added value by processing locally grown apricots and dried apricot products using modern technologies, expand the range of finished products, and increase export potential.
The agro-complex is scheduled to become operational in October this year.
The regional governor gave the responsible officials relevant instructions to ensure the high-quality organization of construction works and complete the project within the established timeframe.
