The meeting, held in a sincere and open atmosphere, focused particular attention on supporting young people living in remote and hard-to-reach areas, helping them implement their initiatives and ideas, ensuring their employment, and providing training in modern professions.

At the beginning of the meeting, the regional governor noted that large-scale work is being launched to transform Fergana district into the “Gateway to the Eastern Tourist Resort”, including the establishment of an international tourism centre in Shohimardon village.

The aim is to make effective use of Shohimardon’s unique natural environment and tourism potential and transform the area into one of Uzbekistan’s most attractive tourist destinations. In this process, one of the key priorities is to create new jobs and high-income opportunities, particularly for young people.

During the meeting, young people from the Shohimardon and Yordon mahallas shared their concerns and proposals with the regional governor. Among the proposals were the provision of preferential loans to establish family guest houses, measures to ensure employment, construction of a mini-football field, support for launching entrepreneurial activities, and the organisation of training courses in IT and artificial intelligence.

It was noted that the number of young people in Shohimardon obtaining certificates in foreign languages and various fields, as well as those aspiring to study at higher education institutions, is increasing.

The regional governor considered each proposal and appeal and gave responsible officials specific instructions on their implementation.

The meeting also highlighted that granting international status to the border control and checkpoint in Vodil is creating significant opportunities to further enhance the area’s tourism potential and increase the flow of foreign tourists.

In this regard, responsible officials were instructed to establish a specialised training centre in Shohimardon to prepare young people for careers in the hospitality and service sectors, strengthen their foreign-language skills, and equip them with modern tourism service standards.
