The meeting noted that practical efforts have intensified in the district in recent times, and that positive results are being achieved in a number of areas thanks to the initiative and active participation of the population. At the same time, the importance of addressing issues that had not received sufficient attention over the years, consistently continuing ongoing projects, and further increasing their effectiveness was emphasized.

During the field visits, reports from responsible officials on the work carried out were heard.

Particular emphasis was placed on reducing poverty and increasing citizens’ incomes at the mahalla level. Tasks were set to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the existing opportunities of each area, identify its key economic driver, and establish cooperation around proactive citizens and leading entrepreneurs.

In particular, the broad involvement of people working from home, especially women, in income-generating activities was identified as an important priority, along with increasing family incomes through the development of family businesses and cooperation.

Responsible officials were also instructed to conduct an inventory of unused buildings and facilities in the mahallas, establish new production facilities on their basis, expand the production of high-value-added goods, and create new jobs.

The meeting emphasized the need to make effective use of Baghdad District’s potential in livestock farming, specialize farms in specific areas, accelerate the import of pedigree livestock, and establish an integrated production chain covering the processing and packaging of meat and dairy products and their sale as finished products.

In the agricultural sector, measures were also outlined to increase productivity, gradually renew outdated and inefficient orchards, establish intensive orchards based on export-oriented varieties, and expand high-income sectors through the introduction of modern irrigation methods.

The meeting also focused on accelerating landscaping and improvement efforts, enhancing the appearance of households and streets, and transforming settlements into clean, well-maintained and attractive places to live.

At the same time, crime prevention, particularly the prevention of repeat offenses, was critically discussed. Responsible officials were given specific instructions to conduct an in-depth analysis of each criminal case, facilitate the reintegration of offenders into society, ensure their permanent employment, and organize preventive measures on a mahalla-by-mahalla basis.

In this regard, the importance of further strengthening the activities of the “Mahalla Seven,” maintaining targeted communication with every household and family, identifying existing problems at an early stage, and addressing them jointly was emphasized.

The regional governor noted that the main task of responsible officials is to thoroughly study the internal potential of every mahalla, effectively utilize existing opportunities, support business entities, and create sustainable sources of income for the population.

At the conclusion of the meeting, responsible officials were instructed to implement the planned measures without delay, with high quality and on time, assess the fulfillment of assignments not merely through reports but on the basis of concrete results achieved, and consistently continue the positive processes launched in Baghdad District.
