In Bagdad District, systematic measures are being implemented to develop “growth points” and make effective use of existing opportunities and potential in order to increase employment and household incomes.
Fergana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov visited the “Qushchinor” Citizens’ Assembly of Mahalla and reviewed the work being carried out in this area. He also met with members of the “mahalla seven” and local residents.
More than 5,000 people live in Qushchinor Mahalla. Construction is currently underway on a vacant plot of land in the mahalla to establish facilities consisting of household service outlets and retail shops built using lightweight structures. As part of the project, more than 100 low-income families are expected to be provided with premises in these facilities and supported in finding income-generating employment in various fields.
During the visit, the regional governor was also presented with projects being implemented in Bagdad District as part of the “40 Days of Urgent Measures” initiative. The projects are aimed at reducing poverty, creating employment opportunities, and increasing household incomes.
Canoeing and kayaking are actively developing on the Big Fergana Canal, which passes through the mahalla. Currently, more than 70 young people regularly participate in these sports. Young athletes have been achieving strong results in various competitions and contests held at the national and international levels.
The regional governor gave relevant instructions to responsible officials to support young athletes, create the necessary conditions for them, provide the required equipment, improve the quality of training, and further enhance the sporting achievements of talented young people.
