As is known, on July 26–27 of this year, a delegation of the Fergana Region led by the Governor and comprising local entrepreneurs visited Afghanistan to further strengthen trade, economic and investment cooperation and deepen mutually beneficial ties. During the visit, a series of official meetings and business negotiations were held, resulting in productive agreements across various sectors. Trade Houses of the Fergana Region were also inaugurated in Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif.
Today's meeting served as a logical continuation of the agreements reached during that visit. The parties discussed practical measures to implement bilateral cooperation, develop new investment projects, and further expand trade and economic relations.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that relations between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have entered a completely new stage in recent years, with particular attention being paid to strengthening mutual trust and promoting mutually beneficial economic cooperation.
The Afghan entrepreneurs highly appreciated the industrial and business potential of the Fergana Region and expressed their interest in establishing cooperation in the fields of trade, agriculture, aviation, energy, and logistics. New initiatives in these areas were also proposed.
Governor Khayrullo Bozorov reaffirmed the Fergana Region's readiness to play an active role in expanding Uzbekistan–Afghanistan economic cooperation and expressed confidence that all available opportunities would be mobilized to ensure effective collaboration in every area.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to accelerate the implementation of joint investment projects, increase bilateral trade turnover, and elevate cooperation to a new level.
