Work to Improve Electricity and Gas Supply in Fergana District Continues at an Accelerated Pace

Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Fuel and Energy Issues Behzod Normatov, together with Fergana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov, visited Fergana District to review the progress of ongoing work in this area.
Efforts to improve electricity and gas supply in the district are being carried out under the new district-based and mahalla-based management system. Existing issues in all 71 mahallas have been comprehensively analyzed, and a practical initiative entitled “Urgent 12-Day Campaign” has been launched to eliminate these problems within a short period.
Scientists and talented students from Fergana State Technical University have been involved in this process, introducing scientific approaches and innovative startup projects into the sector. In addition, a dual education program has been launched through cooperation between Hududgazta’minot JSC and Fergana State Technical University, providing employment opportunities for 27 students.
As a result of the work carried out, 41.7 kilometers of parallel gas pipelines have been dismantled and integrated into a unified gas transmission system. This has made it possible to save 180,000 cubic meters of natural gas. Furthermore, 127 outdated gas distribution stations have been dismantled, resulting in monthly savings of more than 54,000 cubic meters of natural gas. In addition, 208 households have been connected to a two-stage gas supply system.
As part of the modernization of the electricity infrastructure, 71 transformer substations and 37.6 kilometers of power lines have undergone major rehabilitation. Another 84 electricity meters have been upgraded to comply with the modern Automated System for Commercial Electricity Metering (ASCEM).
During the visit, responsible officials were instructed to further accelerate efforts aimed at reducing emergency incidents, integrating electricity and gas meters into a unified information system, and significantly decreasing energy losses and outstanding debts.
