In Kabul, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev met with Afghanistan’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar.

Afghanistan’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs emphasized that stronger and more sustainable relations between Kabul and Tashkent would not only serve the economic interests of the two countries but also contribute to ensuring regional stability.
Jamshid Khodjaev noted that the volume of bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan has increased significantly, reaching 1.6 billion US dollars.
He also stated that Uzbekistan is ready to accelerate the implementation of projects initiated by Uzbek investors in Afghanistan, address existing challenges, and launch new projects that will contribute to the economic development of both countries.
In addition, Uzbek officials who are part of the delegation emphasized their readiness to closely cooperate with relevant Afghan authorities to expand collaboration in the fields of transport, energy, agriculture, banking, trade, and economic relations, as well as to support initiatives aimed at enhancing the capacity of Afghan specialists in various areas.
The meeting was also attended by Khayrullo Bozorov, Governor of Fergana Region.
