During the meeting, the results of a comprehensive assessment conducted by the regional working group were reviewed. Participants analyzed new development priorities, existing opportunities, and the challenges facing the city.
Chairing the meeting, Fergana Region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov emphasized that the primary objective of these efforts is to provide sustainable employment for the population, increase household incomes, reduce poverty, and actively engage young people in entrepreneurship. In this regard, he stressed the importance of developing new projects based on the specific potential of each mahalla and creating income-generating employment opportunities for residents.
Reports were presented on the outcomes of the comprehensive assessment carried out by the working groups, along with the key issues identified. The meeting also reviewed progress in the areas of industry, investment, construction, agriculture, exports, youth employment, and the specialization of mahallas.
It was noted that despite Fergana City's significant economic potential, existing opportunities are not being fully utilized. In particular, the slow pace of mahalla specialization, insufficient cooperation with promising entrepreneurs, the limited number of micro-projects, and the inadequate performance in attracting investment and establishing industrial enterprises were criticized.
The meeting also emphasized the need to intensify efforts to establish new export-oriented manufacturing enterprises, implement investment projects that generate high added value, and provide stronger support for entrepreneurial initiatives.
Governor Khayrullo Bozorov stressed that all managers and responsible officials must ensure the full implementation of assigned tasks at every level, demonstrating initiative, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility. He also noted that officials who fail to comply with executive discipline will be held accountable in accordance with the law.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the relevant organizations were instructed to conduct an in-depth assessment of the city's potential, identify new entrepreneurs, develop specific investment and industrial projects across all sectors, create new jobs, and prepare presentations on high value-added projects.
