Fergana Is Becoming a Center for Dialogue, Peace and Friendship

The event brought together representatives of the United Nations, the European Union, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), as well as other reputable international organizations, experts and specialists, and active youth from the Batken and Osh regions of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Sughd region of the Republic of Tajikistan, and the Fergana Valley.
During the opening ceremony held at Fergana State University, Director of the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Eldor Aripov and Governor of Fergana Region Khayrullo Bozorov delivered remarks. They emphasized that this event would contribute to further strengthening friendship, mutual trust, and solidarity among the countries of the region.
Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Central Asia Kaha Imnadze, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Sergey Rumin, OSCE Project Co-ordinator in Uzbekistan Antti Karttunen, along with international experts, shared their views on current issues related to strengthening peace and stability in the region and advancing cooperation among youth.
Particular emphasis was placed on the invaluable role of young people in promoting peace, good-neighborly relations, and an atmosphere of mutual trust in Central Asia. It was noted that the younger generation serves as a strong foundation for reinforcing solidarity, friendship, and cooperative relations among the countries of the region.
During the event, Director of the Youth Affairs Agency Alisher Sadullaev also addressed participants, highlighting that this international seminar represents an important initiative aimed at further enhancing dialogue among young people in the region and widely promoting the ideas of peace, tolerance, and sustainable development across Central Asia.
The international seminar will continue its work until June 25. Within its framework, a series of dialogues, discussions, and events aimed at developing joint cooperation initiatives are planned.
