Fergana and Gomel: A New Stage in Interregional Cooperation

During the meeting, the parties discussed the further development of cooperation between the Fergana and Gomel regions in the trade and economic, investment, agricultural, and tourism sectors. Khayrullo Bozorov emphasized that the regions of Belarus, particularly the Gomel Region, are strategic partners for Fergana, and that bilateral relations are expanding dynamically.
It was noted that, as a result of active cooperation between the business communities of the two regions, trade turnover has increased significantly in recent years. Chairman Ivan Krupko thanked the Fergana partners for their participation in the 20th Gomel Economic Forum and stressed that future cooperation will be driven by the initiatives of large enterprises and entrepreneurs.
The meeting also included proposals to develop pedigree livestock breeding, establish value-added processing chains, introduce modern agricultural machinery and advanced technologies, exchange experience in the fields of mechanical engineering and wood processing, create joint ventures, and expand cooperation in the social sphere, culture, and tourism.
In addition, it was noted with satisfaction that Fergana entrepreneurs have already launched practical activities in Gomel, including in livestock breeding and other areas.
Priority areas for cooperation in the near future were identified.
