Presidential Gifts Presented to War Veterans in Fergana

Today, the Governor of Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, visited the homes of war survivors Fatina Sharipova, Vera Vyaltseva, and Larisa Sharova, who reside in Fergana city and endured the hardships of wartime. The event was attended by representatives of the Eastern Military District, heads of regional law enforcement agencies, and community elders.
During the visit, the governor read out the official holiday greetings sent by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
In addition, on behalf of the President, the veterans were ceremonially presented with a one-time financial award of 30 million soums as well as commemorative gifts.
The meetings included conversations about the veterans’ life stories, professional careers, and the hardships they experienced during the war years.
Fatina Sharipova spent her childhood in the Hannover-Alem concentration camp during the Nazi occupation. After the war, she moved to Uzbekistan, first living in Bukhara and, since 1964, residing in Fergana city. She devoted many years of her life to the field of education.
Vera Vyaltseva, who turned 100 this year, is a survivor of the Siege of Leningrad during 1941–1945. After the war, she worked in various sectors and held responsible positions in the film industry of Fergana region from 1961 to 1981.
Larisa Sharova, who endured the tragic days of the Siege of Stalingrad, expressed gratitude for today’s peaceful and stable life. She especially described Uzbekistan as a land of kindness, compassion, and tolerance.
During the meetings, the veterans expressed sincere gratitude to the country’s leadership for the high level of attention and care shown toward the elderly generation and war veterans, as well as for the policies aimed at honoring human dignity. They also emphasized the importance of educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism, appreciation of peace, and devotion to the homeland, offering heartfelt blessings and prayers.
