Along with other regions, Fergana region joined the event via videoconference and commenced activities aimed at expanding green areas.
In particular, work has begun to create a “green garden” and a “green belt” on a 105-hectare area located in the “Yuqori Archa” mahalla of Fergana district. Today, more than 2,000 ornamental tree saplings were planted on 10 hectares of this territory.
The event was attended by the Governor of Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov, as well as elders, youth, and representatives of the public.
For reference: In recent years, within the framework of the “Yashil Makon” nationwide initiative, 140 hectares of green gardens and 170 hectares of public parks have been created in the region, along with 26 hectares of green belts around cities and districts. In addition, more than 100,000 climate-adapted ornamental trees were planted in the area of the “Karkidon” reservoir in Kuva district.
In 2026, it is planned to plant a total of 15.2 million trees and shrubs in the region, including 5.6 million ornamental and fruit saplings during the spring season. For this purpose, more than 40 million saplings have been prepared in nurseries. To date, over 6.5 million trees have already been planted across the region.
