The event was attended by the regional governor Khayrullo Bozorov, officials responsible for the regional agricultural sector, district governors, heads of relevant organizations, leaders of cotton-textile and grain clusters, farmers, industry specialists, and members of the public council.
At the beginning, participants were provided with information about advanced agrotechnologies used in cotton planting and wheat cultivation, modern fertilization tools, opportunities for efficient use of field edges, water-saving devices, and solar panels. With the participation of respected elders, prayers were offered, after which cotton seeds were planted in the ground with good intentions.
Speaking at the seminar, regional governor Khayrullo Bozorov emphasized that the integration of science and practice in agriculture has reached a new stage, which in turn is yielding significant results. It was noted that productivity has increased sharply due to the use of foreign varieties, the double-row planting method, drip irrigation, and agro-treatment using drones.
Referring to the results achieved in the agricultural sector last year, the regional governor analyzed existing achievements, as well as the mistakes and shortcomings that occurred, and drew attention to the important tasks to be implemented this year. As noted, cotton will be planted on 72 thousand hectares in the region this year. Currently, wheat is being cultivated on 92,300 hectares.
The regional governor also addressed the importance of systematically organizing work and ensuring the effective operation of headquarters during the cotton planting season. It was emphasized that high goals should be set, farmers should work on the basis of mutual interest, and cotton yield should be increased to at least 60–70 centners per hectare.
This year, cotton planting in the region will be carried out entirely according to the 76-centimeter scheme. Of this, foreign varieties will be planted on 62.5 thousand hectares, while local varieties will be planted on 9.5 thousand hectares.
During the seminar, agrotechnical measures to be carried out during the cotton planting season and the supply of material and technical resources were also discussed.
In order to systematically organize the cotton planting process, 257 special units have been formed in the region, with 4,149 pieces of machinery and mechanisms assigned to them.
The regional governor emphasized that achieving high results in agriculture is directly linked to the wide introduction of modern technologies and scientific achievements, as well as the successful application of foreign experience. It was also noted that high yields can be achieved through the timely application of fertilizers and other agrotechnical measures.
During the event, participants also became acquainted with advanced practices in organizing wheat cultivation and fertilization work in a systematic and high-quality manner. Specialists also provided information on raising the first batch of silkworms of the season.
In addition, measures related to potato planting and the effective use of orchard inter-rows were explained.
It was emphasized that field edges should be used efficiently and that strict adherence to farming culture is necessary.
At the end of the seminar, responsible officials were given relevant instructions and tasks regarding the upcoming spring agricultural work.
