The “Fergana – Pyeongtaek” Business Forum Held in Fergana

The event was organized to strengthen mutually beneficial ties between the business communities of the two regions, elevate trade and economic cooperation to a new level, and expand opportunities for implementing joint projects. Representatives of business circles from both countries, entrepreneurs, officials of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and representatives of relevant organizations took part in the forum.
Speaking at the event, the Governor of Fergana Region, Khayrullo Bozorov, once again expressed his gratitude to the members of the delegation led by the Mayor of Pyeongtaek, Jeong Jang-seon, who are visiting the region on a working visit.
The head of the region noted that the large-scale reforms implemented in the Republic of Korea, as well as the strong emphasis on science and innovation, have turned the country into one of the world’s leading nations.
It was also emphasized that relations between Uzbekistan and Korea are rising to a new stage. In particular, the first “Central Asia – Korea” Summit, scheduled to take place on September 16–17 in Seoul, is a clear sign of the steadily developing cooperation between the two sides.
Fergana Region has established effective ties with a number of regions of the Republic of Korea, among which the city of Pyeongtaek holds a special place.
Pyeongtaek is considered one of the important industrial and innovation centers of South Korea. In particular, it has significant experience in the development of sectors such as the semiconductor industry, modern industrial production, logistics, and new technologies.
The regional governor noted that today more than 50 enterprises with Korean capital operate in the region, and the scope of their activities continues to expand.
At the same time, confidence was expressed that bilateral cooperation will continue to develop further. It was emphasized that all necessary conditions have been created in the region for Korean investors and entrepreneurs, and that promising investment projects will always receive support.
The Mayor of Pyeongtaek, Jeong Jang-seon, also addressed the forum, noting that relations between the two countries are consistently developing at the level of strategic partnership and that close cooperation continues to expand. He stressed that the ties established with Fergana are of great importance in this process.
After that, the Chairman of the Fergana Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sherzod Yuldashev, the Chairman of the Pyeongtaek Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Lee Kang-sun, and the Vice President of the Korea–Uzbekistan Business Association, Edward Kim, also spoke. They emphasized that the memorandum signed between the regions serves as a solid legal foundation for cooperation and noted that the business forum will become an important platform for the implementation of promising joint investment projects.
During the event, a video about the investment attractiveness of Fergana Region was presented. Deputy Governor of the region Nuriddin Mamajonov delivered a presentation on the region’s investment and export potential.
The business forum continued with B2B meetings involving representatives of local and Korean business communities. Entrepreneurs operating in various sectors, including textiles, agricultural product processing, and automotive manufacturing, took part in the meetings.
