Chinese investors show great interest in the tourism sector of Fergana

During the meeting, it was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and China has significantly expanded in recent years and, thanks to the political will of the leaders of both countries, has risen to the level of a strategic partnership. It was emphasized that this partnership is based on mutual friendship and strong trust.
China is becoming one of Uzbekistan’s leading trade partners and major investors. Interregional cooperation is also intensifying in various areas. In this regard, the meeting highlighted that several major new projects are being launched in Fergana together with Chinese investors — including the construction of a shopping center, a hotel, and an industrial park.
The regional governor noted that China’s experience is being effectively used in various fields, particularly in ensuring employment and reducing poverty. Opportunities to implement new joint tourism projects in the region were also discussed.
The “China Chamber of Tourism” is a large national tourism organization in China, uniting numerous enterprises, companies, and investors. Its chairman highlighted the prospects for actively attracting foreign investors to Fergana region.
Chinese investors expressed interest in developing the tourism potential of the village of Shakhimardan in Fergana district, as well as the cities of Kuvasay and Kuva district. They proposed several initiatives, including establishing a zoo, building modern attractions, and implementing other projects.
The governor supported these proposals, emphasizing the need to implement them based on concrete project plans, which will create new jobs.
At the end of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Fergana regional administration and the China Chamber of Tourism.
