Konya is one of Türkiye’s key economic hubs and is informally referred to as the country’s “agriculture and industry capital.”
A meeting was held with more than 10 major entrepreneurs from Konya. The Turkish side was briefed on Fergana Region’s industry and its economic and investment potential, as well as on the large-scale reforms and innovations implemented in recent years.
It was noted that, thanks to the wise and friendly relations between the leaders of both countries, cooperation with Türkiye has reached the highest level and continues to advance rapidly. Information was presented on the region’s industrial zones, investor incentives, and enabling conditions.
It was also noted that a support center has been established for the region’s top investing countries, providing investors with comprehensive assistance up to the launch of their operations.
The Governor emphasized that over 100 enterprises with Turkish investment are operating in Fergana and that their number is increasing year by year. He highlighted the start of work on a “Turkish Special Industrial Zone” in Quva District.
Both sides underlined their intention to make the Konya visit mutually beneficial, and Turkish business leaders were invited to visit Fergana.
Turkish entrepreneurs spoke about their activities, noting Uzbekistan’s rapid development in recent years and their contribution through investments in ongoing and planned projects, including those in Fergana Region. Participants received answers to their questions.
Following the discussions, the parties agreed to apply Konya’s industrial-zone practices in Fergana and to organize, in the near future, a visit to the region by a delegation of Turkish business representatives.
