The Livestock and Poultry Research Institute has been implementing practical projects in the livestock sector in collaboration with the KOPIA Center of South Korea in Uzbekistan since 2018.
In particular, since 2021, significant efforts have been made to improve cattle breeding and selection processes in Uzbekistan.
In 2023, high-yielding Holstein cow embryos from the USA and South Korea were imported and successfully transplanted in three livestock farms.
Embryo transplantation has become an important innovation in Uzbekistan’s livestock industry. Industry specialists and farmers not only showed great interest in this process but also actively participated in seminars organized with the KOPIA Center.
A positive result was achieved in 50% of the cows that underwent embryo transplantation.
Currently, healthy calves have been obtained from cows that underwent embryo transplantation, including one calf at the "Dil Giyo Fayz Baraka" farm in Chinaz district of Tashkent region and three calves at the "Kim Pen Xva" farm in O‘rtachirchiq district of Tashkent region.
The embryo transplantation procedure contributes to accelerating breeding processes in Uzbekistan’s livestock industry, creating high-yielding dairy cattle herds, and improving genetic quality.
