During the event, the results of the training programs were discussed, along with the advanced foreign experience studied and the possibilities for its application in Uzbekistan’s practice.
At the seminar, a presentation was given on practical work carried out in Japan within the framework of the “Tourism Development Policy in Central Asia” program — covering tourism infrastructure, health improvement directions, road signs, tourist information centers, as well as the activities of the Destination Management Organization (DMO) system in the regions.
In addition, special attention was paid to the experience of non-governmental non-profit organizations participating in tourism management, cooperation with local communities, and the creation of tourist brands, as presented by the Japanese government.
The second part of the training took place in Malaysia and was dedicated to the topic of “Development of Muslim Hospitality Services.” The program included studying the organization of Muslim hospitality services, reforms carried out in the service sector in Malaysia, the introduction of halal products and services in tourism, as well as advanced experience in cooperation between government organizations in this area.
During the training seminar, Committee staff visited such organizations as the Islamic Arts Museum in Kuala Lumpur, the city of Putrajaya, the Gopeng-Perak Glamping tourist complex, the Malaysian Standards Institute, and the Malaysian Chemistry Department, where they familiarized themselves with practical experience on the topic.
At the end of the training, participants presented a report on Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, work done on the development of Muslim hospitality services, as well as existing challenges and ways to address them in this area.
This international training program gave Uzbek specialists the opportunity to study Japan’s sustainable tourism model and Malaysia’s experience in Muslim hospitality, opening a new stage in the development of national policy and services in the tourism sector.
