Uzbekistan recognized as the “Best cultural tourism destination” at the Global Tourism Forum in Brussels

The event, held under the theme “Rethinking Tourism in a Changing World,” brought together tourism ministers and officials from dozens of countries, representatives of international organizations, and esteemed figures from the global tourism industry. The forum aimed to enhance resilience, attract investment, promote women and youth leadership, implement technological innovations, and strengthen international cooperation in the field of global tourism.
During the opening ceremony, attendees were presented with detailed information about Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, ongoing sectoral reforms, and joint projects with the UN Tourism organization carried out as part of the initiatives of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The national stand of Uzbekistan drew significant attention from participants.
In recognition of the reforms implemented in the country’s tourism sector, Uzbekistan was awarded the title of “Best Cultural Tourism Destination” by the forum organizers.
As part of the forum, the delegation held a meeting with the newly elected Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization, Sheikha Al Nuaimi. Additionally, discussions were held to strengthen bilateral cooperation with key figures such as Apostolos Tzitzikostas, European Commission Commissioner for Sustainable Tourism and Transport; Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary-General of the Organization of Turkic States; Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of the Arab Republic of Egypt; and Justin Reid, Director at TripAdvisor.
