On September 11, 2025, a seminar on tourism policy and regional development was held at the Tourism Committee for its staff. The event was organized as part of a collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

The seminar was led by Professor Shuji Koiso, Director of the Center for Regional Development at Hokkaido Bunkyo University, who has over 50 years of experience in regional economics and tourism. He presented Japanese practices in sustainable tourism development and strengthening the industry's role in economic growth.
The Tourism Committee staff had the opportunity to learn from the Japanese expert, discuss modern approaches to the use of tourism statistics, and explore successful examples of integrating tourism into regional development strategies. The knowledge gained will serve as a valuable foundation for further improving Uzbekistan’s tourism policy.
