The event marked the completion of a project that included research, analysis of international experience, and the development of a “roadmap” with practical recommendations for the industry’s growth. In particular, the roadmap outlines measures such as the creation of a national coordination center, the introduction of a “one-stop” digital platform for routes and permits, infrastructure development with a focus on environmental sustainability, the establishment of a specialized rescue service, and the implementation of educational programs for the training and certification of instructors and guides.
During the meeting, it was noted that Uzbekistan offers vast opportunities for active and sports tourism thanks to its diverse landscapes, natural locations, and the growing interest in active leisure. The measures provided in the project will help make this tourism sector more accessible, safe, and attractive for travelers.
Continuing the theme of active tourism, a diploma awarding ceremony was held for instructors and guides. A total of 35 specialists, who had completed more than a year of training, received professional qualification certificates. The program included practical sessions on the use of equipment, orientation in the field, ensuring safety, and other essential skills. These diplomas were awarded for the first time, and further training programs for new groups of specialists are planned.
