As part of the project, around 30 off-road vehicles and over 70 participants will depart from Tashkent and, over eight days, travel through Bukhara, Nukus, Muynak, the Aral region, Khiva, and Navoi, before returning to Tashkent. Along the route, participants will visit unique natural sites such as the dried-up Aral Sea bed, saxaul forests, and the Ustyurt Plateau, as well as cultural attractions typical of the region.
Key activities of the project include a car parade in the city of Nukus, a visit to the State Museum of Arts of Karakalpakstan, an excursion to the “Ship Cemetery” in the Muynak district, an expedition to the Aral Sea and the Barsakelmes Nature Reserve, as well as cultural and concert programs.
The event is organized by the Tourism Committee, the Council of the Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the National Television and Radio Company of Uzbekistan, and other partner organizations.
All events throughout the project will receive wide coverage in the media, on social networks, and through bloggers. This will help attract attention not only from domestic but also international tourists to the Aral region, create a positive image of the area, and contribute to the development of new tourism routes.
The “Visit to the Aral Sea” project is expected to open new opportunities for tourism in Uzbekistan and become an important step toward transforming the Aral Sea region into one of the global centers for ecological and adventure tourism.
