The Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Umid Shadiev met with the CEO of the Malaysian airline AirAsia X, Benyamin Ismail.
During the meeting, issues related to the launch of a joint marketing campaign ahead of the opening of direct air service between Kuala Lumpur and Tashkent—scheduled for its inaugural flight on November 14, 2025—were discussed. As part of the campaign, a series of promotional activities are planned in key ASEAN markets to promote Uzbekistan's tourism potential.
The parties expressed confidence that cooperation with AirAsia X will create new opportunities for the development of the tourism sector and enhance tourist exchange between the countries, contributing to mutual economic growth.
