Head of the World Toilet organization highly praises sanitary infrastructure in Uzbekistan

The purpose of the visit is to promote the development of sanitary infrastructure, raise awareness of hygiene standards, and exchange international experience in the fields of water supply and sanitation.
Special attention during the visit was given to discussing modern approaches to the design and maintenance of public toilets, especially in places with large tourist gatherings and educational institutions. Jack Sim emphasized that sanitary infrastructure should be not only functional but also convenient, safe, and inclusive for all population groups, including women, children, elderly people, and individuals with disabilities.
In the Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara regions, as well as in the city of Tashkent, the delegation visited UNESCO World Heritage sites, tourist locations, and areas with high tourist traffic, where an audit of the sanitary conditions in tourist zones was conducted. Based on the meetings, recommendations were made to improve sanitary infrastructure, including the introduction of environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solutions.
At the conclusion of the visit, Jack Sim expressed confidence that Uzbekistan has great potential to achieve sustainable progress in sanitation and noted the World Toilet Organization’s readiness for long-term cooperation in implementing joint programs. Additionally, Jack Sim proposed holding the World Toilet Organization Summit in Uzbekistan in 2026.
