During a visit to the famous “Andong Hahoe” folk village located in Gyeongsangbuk-do province, the idea of creating a similar ethno-village in Parkent district was proposed and later approved by the President of Uzbekistan. Today, the project has been successfully completed and is now in operation.
The main goal of the project is to preserve the unique nature and ethnographic characteristics of the region while promoting both domestic and international tourism.
At the opening ceremony, guests enjoyed performances of folk art, a showcase of traditional clothing, and exhibitions of visual art. A press tour around Parkent district was organized for local and foreign media representatives, including the creative team from South Korea’s MOVE magazine.
During the info tour, visitors were introduced to the “Family Resort” guest house, the resort zones being developed in the “Oltin Bel” hill area of Kumushkon, as well as lightweight hotels and other tourism infrastructure projects.
The event was attended by Ms. Khon Ji Yeon, a senior specialist in culture, tourism, and education from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Uzbekistan, along with other honorary guests.
