The event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Belarus–Uzbekistan Friendship Society, media and cultural figures, as well as prominent Belarusian writers and journalists.

During the ceremony, it was noted that the renowned Belarusian poet Yakub Kolas made a significant contribution to strengthening cultural ties between our countries by writing about Tashkent and other locations popular among tourists and visitors to Uzbekistan.

“I am very happy to be appointed as an ambassador for Uzbekistan’s tourism. In my work, I will strive to further strengthen the close friendship between our countries. I hope to continue sharing with my compatriots the beauty and uniqueness of Uzbekistan — a country with a centuries-old history, which I have seen with my own eyes and know well — and to help increase the flow of tourists,” said Vasilina Mitskevich.
