The project is the result of an international expedition organized by the Scientific Research Institute for Tourism Development under the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, in collaboration with Altai State University (Russia) and the Dzhamgerchinov Institute of History, Archaeology and Ethnology of the National Academy of Science of the Kyrgyz Republic. The aim of the expedition was to present the valley as a vibrant cultural landscape that preserves authentic traditions while remaining open and accessible to travelers.
The exhibition features more than 100 photographs — from ancient settlements and architectural landmarks to contemporary scenes of daily life. Through portraits, family traditions, and ceremonial practices, it reveals the distinct character of the Fergana and Andijan regions. The photographs highlight how past and present coexist in harmony, creating an atmosphere that draws travelers seeking authentic cultural experiences.
The project is intended for tourists, researchers, tourism professionals, and all those eager to discover a new side of Uzbekistan. This exhibition invites visitors not only to see the region, but to truly experience it — and perhaps include the Fergana Valley in their next cultural journey through Uzbekistan.
