Uzbekistan to host the 11th Meeting of Tourism Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States

At the event, the head of the Uzbek delegation, First Deputy Chairman of the Tourism Committee Djamshid Abdusalamov, presented information on the large-scale reforms and transformations carried out in the tourism sector of Uzbekistan in recent years.
In particular, it was noted that the number of visa-free countries has now reached 95, the tourist flow has tripled, and in 2024, more than 10 million foreign tourists visited Uzbekistan. The United Nations World Tourism Organization included Uzbekistan among the top four countries with the fastest-growing tourism markets in the world.
The event emphasized that tourism is a unique means of strengthening peace, stability, and international relations amid global challenges and geopolitical changes.
Proposals were also made for joint projects aimed at broadly promoting existing tourism opportunities in cooperation with the tourism authorities of the Organization’s member states.
As a result of the event, Ankara, the capital of the Republic of Turkey, was declared the Tourism Capital of the Organization of Turkic States. It was also announced that Uzbekistan will host the next 11th meeting in this format.
